How I became the Recycling Queen
Lianne Snow is artist by nature, goldsmith by trade, counsellor by vocation, and now emerging advocate.
Deeply committed to the fascinating field of creativity, inspiration and the unconscious mind, Lianne's education has traversed art history, psychology and health. The result has been a passionate exploration of the benefits of creative self–expression. No surprise, Lianne’s studio includes glass, metal, fibre, wood, canvases, paper and assorted inspirational bits of junk.
“We are all creators of this world in our thoughts and actions. Taking responsibility for this is critical to our survival. As a therapist and an artist I hope to provide tangible metaphors for managing our garbage (in our bin or in our lives) in ways that are beautiful and inspiring. My upcycled work is about waste management as an expression of balance for our psyches, our humanity and our planet. It has become the overriding question in my life: What can I do with that?
Lately, my passion for landscape design has lead me to the exciting world of permaculture. Spending time in nature with an attitude of acceptance allows one to appreciate how we truly fit in. We are provided for. We belong in relationship to our surroundings and creative generosity is the model nature provides.”
Lianne is an inspirational and motivational speaker, life coach and workshop/seminar leader. Years as a counsellor, hypno-therapist and Life Skills coach have been enriched by the constant flow of art. The result is an insightful expertise in the liberating qualities of creativity. Lianne is Director of Piece of Mind, creative counseling services, The Idea Emporium ( a community collaboration) and the Recycling Queen Design Studio.
As of June 2012, Lianne has embarked on a larger recycling project---and 1863 Victorian Farmhouse on Colborne Ontario's main st. A small town affords walkability and the main street (Hwy 2) visibility for studio tours. Finally a place with sun to plant under, a veranda to chat on, and best of all a gallery showroom for completed work to meet the public. Welcome.
